Contact details for major toy shops including Argos and Tescos

Courtesy of Toy News magazine please find below all the contact details of the major, multiple toy shops in the UK

So if you want to get your toys listed by the multiples heres the place to start

As a knitted and crochet toy wholesaler we only work with Independent retailers because we like them (and we hope they like us too!) so here are our top tips before you pick up the phone

  • Its a cliche, but its still true. Volume is vanity, profity is sanity. Make sure you know all the trading terms before you quote a price. Multiples have a habit of adding on various discounts for marketing, returns and payment which can erode your profit significantly. you can see an example here
  • Trade mark your design before you show it to anyone! We have had a few run ins on designs and our advice can be seen here
  • Know your legislation! Your toy needs to pass all EU and UK safety legislation. We have some advice on soft toy regulations here but  Trading Standards are a mine of information and always willing to help
  • A personal comment. The bigger the buying team the more complicated the process will be and the harder it will be for you. I'd start with the smaller teams where the decision making is more concentrated
