Our pterodactyl knitted flying dinosaur toy in striking yellow yarn has bat-like wings and a crest on its head. The pterodactyl is not strictly a dinosaur but was in fact a type of flying reptile - part of the pterosaur family. Plesiosaurus is an extinct marine reptile that lived in the Jurassic period. The plesiosaurus was twice as long as a modern horse and weighed twice as much as a modern pig. The name plesiosaurus means 'almost lizard' though it is often described as looking like a combination of a modern day turtle and snake.
As the plesiosaurus lived in the same period as the dinosaurs, we have decided to add this baby dinosaur soft toy to our knitted dinosaur teddy family.
