Plesiosaurus is an extinct marine reptile that lived in the Jurassic period. The name plesiosaurus means 'almost lizard' though it is often described as looking like a combination of a modern day turtle and snake. The plesiosaurus was twice as long as a modern horse and weighed twice as much as a modern pig and is believed to have eaten fish and molluscs.
